Legendary Tales from the Battlefield!

A Brave Shepherd

Before facing the giant, David was a young shepherd boy. His daily job was keeping his fluffy flock of sheep safe from wild lions and bears, which prepared him perfectly for this legendary encounter.

Towering Armor

Goliath was famously massive, standing over nine feet tall! His heavy bronze armor weighed as much as a grown adult, making him look like an unstoppable walking fortress on the battlefield.

Five Smooth Stones

Instead of a heavy sword or a shiny shield, David chose the simplest of tools. He picked up just five smooth stones from a nearby rushing stream and stepped forward with only his trusty leather sling.

Artistic Tricks for an Epic Masterpiece

  • Play with Contrast: Use bright, warm yellows, gentle greens, and soft earthy browns for David to highlight his lively, youthful spirit. In contrast, color Goliath with cool, metallic grays, dark blues, and sharp silvers to emphasize the cold, heavy nature of his armor.
  • Create Dusty Textures: The famous battle took place in a dry valley. Add tiny dots, cross-hatching, or sweeping strokes of tan and ochre around their feet to create the illusion of kicked-up dirt and dramatic action in the air.
  • Highlight the Details: Give a little extra attention to the storytelling props! Add a tiny white dash to the smooth stones to make them look shiny and wet from the stream, or draw bright yellow glints on the edges of Goliath’s spear to make it look sharp.
